Simple apple pie

This is a very simple apple pie I baked using my mother’s recipe. I used to have this pie quite often as a child with the apples from my mother’s garden. The apples used must be green and rather sour.

1 cup of sugar
2 cups of flour
3 eggs
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp of vinegar
5 large sour green apples
stick of butter
bread crumbs (optional)

  • Break 3 eggs into a cup of sugar and thouroughly mix with a wooden spoon
  • Add flour and mix it in
  • To 1/4 tsp of baking soda add some vinegar, let it sit for a moment and add to the dough mixture

  • Warm up the over to 400 degrees
  • Peel, remove the middle and cut up the apples into large slices (each apple to 3-4 slices)

  • Add apples to the dough and mix in as much as you can
  • Butter up the baking pan and if you want you could line it up with some bread crumbs
  • Lay out the dough mixture with apples onto the pan and put in the over

  • Bake fore 45 minutes
